Fishing for bass, coalfish, cod, flounder, mullet, sea trout, golden grey mullet and turbot.

John O’Shea of Skellig Tours also offers a range of fully licensed sea fishing trips on his boat “L’Oursin” tailored to suit the novice and avid angler alike. Fishing trips include: 

  • • Reef and drift fishing for pollock, mackerel, cod, wrasse, conger, ling and colefish
  • • Deep sea angling for flatfish, conger, skate, ling, dogfish, ray and spurdog
  • • Shark fishing for blue, porbeagle and tope


John operates the Catch and Release Programme. All gear is supplied.

Sea Sports

Derrynane Sea Sports offer equipment hire, including wetsuits, as well as beginner’s lessons. Activities include; sailing, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, and water skiing.


Sea Swimming

Derrynane beach is sheltered and safe for swimming. There are lifeguards present during the summer season.


The Skellig Ring

Starting at the ring at Kenneigh, this scenic drive covers the Iveragh Peninsula, as well as Valentia Island.
